The school of chocolate

It was a great honour to be invited to the inauguration of the new Barry Callebaut UK and Ireland Chocolate Academy Centre earlier this month.

We didn’t think we needed any extra lessons to expand our love and appreciation of the wonder of chocolate but after a masterclass from superstar chocolatier Kirsten Tibballs and the team at Callebaut we left bursting with ideas, and bursting at the seams, following a day immersed in all things chocolate.

The Swiss chocolate manufacturer, and Woods supplier, has revamped its centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire to provide customers, global and local food manufacturers, as well as artisans and professional chocolatiers, with state of the art facilities and support for training.

The Chocolate Academy consolidates Callebaut’s position at the forefront of luxury chocolate production, and is a fantastic hub from which to explore the latest trends, techniques and recipes in chocolate. The academy is part of a network of twenty-three Chocolate Academy Centres around the globe where artisans and professionals who want to improve their skills in chocolate and learn about new trends, techniques, and recipes are trained.
