Woods Foodservice Porsche Motorsport Boxster Cup 2023

We are proud to be headline sponsors of 2023 Porsche Club Motorsport Boxster Cup, now known as Woods Foodservice Porsche Motorsport Boxster Cup! We are delighted to collaborate with such a prestigious brand as Porsche, who's values and vision are very similar to our own.

What is Boxster racing?

The Boxster Cup is a great opportunity for racers to enter the world of circuit racing at an equal level playing field. Racers of all levels are welcomed to participate in the series with a Boxster S model built between 1999 and 2004. They also have regulated technical specifications, so everyone has a fair chance. The Boxster series has seen many racers progress to Porsche Club Championship and beyond!

The cup consists of 14 races at 7 race meetings at the UK’s major race circuits such as Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donington Park.

First Race Event at Donington Park – 1st April

We kicked off the first race of the season at a very wet and cloudy Donington Park on Saturday 1st April. Although the weather wasn’t on our side, it did not dampen the mood of the racers. Everyone was excited to get on the track for the first qualifying round, which saw Jonathan Lovell take 1st place, with Tom Andrew in 2nd and Sarah Thomson in 3rd place. It was then time for the first race, which saw a very close battle between Tom Andrew and Jonathan Lovell, Jonathan took lead up until lap 10 but Tom Andrew managed to get ahead and secure 1st place with just a 2 second gap. Ashley White was close behind securing 3rd place and Vikram Sudera coming close 4th.

The last race saw the likely rival between Jonathan Lovell,  Tom Andrew and Ashley White, again a very close battle but Lovell managed to maintain his first place throughout the race.  White was in 2nd place in the first few laps but Andrew managed to get in front for the final laps securing his 2nd podium place with White in 3rd. Sarah Thomson, who placed 3rd in the qualifying round, caught up with White in the second half of the final lap, but took a half spin exiting the chicane.  Thomson managed to recover and take fourth place,  with Faye Noble-Evans just behind with under a 2 second gap.
