The Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining
With the long-awaited re-opening of outdoor hospitality, we’ve rounded up a few of our favourite restaurants with outside areas.
The OXO Tower
On the 8th floor of the iconic OXO tower, the restaurant, bar and brasserie features an expansive garden terrace with floor-to-ceiling windows. They offer a menu of British seasonal food for lunch and dinner, as well as an indulgent 6-course tasting menu, afternoon tea and an array of killer cocktails. With views across the Thames river and St. Pauls cathedral, this is set to be a popular dining destination so plan well in advance.
The Lighterman is a pub, dining room and bar located in Granary Square, King’s Cross. Set up to host any occasion from leisurely lunches, post work drinks or weekend cocktails, their large outdoor terrace and Canalside bar is a perfect spot to soak in the sunshine when the weather starts to heat up. Their menu has a focus on sustainably sourced ingredients and includes dishes such as ‘Pan-seared Loch Duart salmon’ and ‘Atlantic prawn flatbread’ while not forgetting their infamous Sunday roast.
The Bluebird, Chelsea
The Blue Bird all-day restaurant, cafe, and upscale dining room, located in the heart of Chelsea, serves a modern European menu which can be enjoyed in their outdoor courtyard – a popular spot for locals and visitors to catch up with friends and watch the business of London life unfold. They’re well-known for their brunch dishes, offering eggs any way, fresh pastries and a killer Bloody Mary to hail the weekend in.
Casa Do Frango
Casa Do Frango has recently opened its summer terrace at their Shoreditch venue where they are offering their classic Portuguese barbecue plates and a full bar. The restaurant’s iconic ‘peri peri chicken’ is the main event, cooked over wood charcoal and paired with a variety of sides including ‘Batatas fritas’, ‘African rice’ and ‘Frango slaw’. The 80-cover terrace is open Wednesday through Sunday each week and comes equipped with heaters, umbrellas and blankets for that unpredictable British weather.
