Granny Gothards are an artisan ice cream and sorbet producer, based in the heart of Devon and renowned for supplying to leading Chefs both UK and internationally. Their passion for excellence, expertise in sourcing and unlimited creativity with bespoke flavours makes them every Chef’s ‘ secret ingredient’ in their freezer!
Founded by Amanda, the small yet incredibly hard-working team of Granny Gothards girls produce all the ice creams by hand in 20 litre batches. They’ve simply upscaled an artisan product without compromising on flavour or quality along the way!
We create all our ice creams in small 20 litre batches using only the very finest ingredients and produced exactly the same way Chefs would. Granny Gothards use Devon milk from the first local milking at Oak Park Dairy (blend of Jersey and Holstein milk with circa 4.2% butterfat content), Devon double cream, Somerset egg yolk and each recipe is created from scratch – no base mixes, skimmed milk powders or artificial flavourings etc!
The overrun is completely natural meaning no added air therefore an incredibly stable product for use in desserts – no risk of the ice cream melting as it goes from the kiosk to cone to the customer! With 207 flavours in our range as well as a bespoke flavour development service to offer something totally unique with just a 20 litre MOQ. From the much loved favourites to the weird and wonderful including Rosewater & Cardamom ice cream, Caramelized Walnut ice cream, Cucumber and Lemon sorbet and our new Hot Honey ice cream – new flavours are only limited by imagination!
Our range is adored by Chefs both in the UK and globally as it’s made to the same exacting standard they would create and the breadth of our flavours compliments the creativity of their hero centrepiece in the dessert. We’re thrilled to have won numerous local, regional and national awards with our Salted Honey ice cream gaining Supreme Champion in the Taste of the West and our Strawberries & Cream ice cream, Best Food Product in Food Drink Devon. Needless to say, incredibly strong competition being in a region so talented with Food and Drink!
